Mesothelioma Symptoms and Diagnosis
The phenomenon of mesothelioma is a disease process that usually begins many years before the disease is diagnosed. It typically begins with insidious breathing problems. The victim develops a cough, and perhaps pneumonia. A doctor will order X-rays, which will review abnormalities in the stomach lining or the lining of the lungs. Symptoms and tests required to confirm the diagnosis are often painful and invasive. Following X-rays and CT scans, a doctor will ultimately make the pathological diagnosis with a biopsy needle inserted through the nose or inserted through a surgical incision in the side.
